A conversation. A week of content.
Start with your ideas. Let ChatGPT help shape the draft plan. Review the dates and words, then give every post a place in your calendar.
Your first plan in four steps.
You can use the guided planner with your own ChatGPT account. A Social Desk plugin connection is optional for this workflow.
- Sign in with Google.
Use your Gmail or Google Workspace account. In Brand settings, add your brand name, audience, tone of voice and timezone.
- Build your planning prompt.
Choose “Plan with ChatGPT” in the workspace. Pick your networks, start date, post count and campaign goal. Read and copy the prepared prompt.
- Create the draft plan in ChatGPT.
Open ChatGPT, paste the prompt and review the response. The prompt asks for a JSON plan. Copy the complete response back into Social Desk.
- Preview, check and save.
Review captions and dates in your brand’s timezone. Save the planned drafts, attach your media and check any missing facts. The calendar records your plan; it does not send the posts to social networks.
Save the plan directly from your chat.
The owner’s personal Social Desk plugin can read brand context and save a batch of up to 14 dated drafts. Public app directory access is still pending review.
- In ChatGPT Work, open Plugins → Personal → Created by you and select Social Desk. Install or connect it if prompted.
- Connect your Google and ChatGPT workspace identities below, using the same verified email, if you want both sign-ins to open the same content.
- Start a new chat, select or mention Social Desk, and ask it to read your brands first.
- Ask for a draft plan. Review the proposed content and dates, then ask it to save the plan. Open the calendar to see the result.
“Read my Social Desk brand voice. Propose seven Instagram and LinkedIn posts for next week in Europe/London. Show me the captions and times first. Once I approve the plan, save them as dated drafts without publishing.”
If the plugin is unavailable in your account, use the guided planner above. Custom app options vary by ChatGPT plan and workspace permissions. Read OpenAI’s custom app setup guidance.
Connect your sign-ins.
Connecting is optional. It lets your Google website session and your connected ChatGPT tools use the same workspace. We require both sign-ins and matching verified emails.
Existing content is preserved. If both sign-ins already have saved work, linking stops so the owner can help you choose how to proceed.
What does “scheduled” mean here?
A planned date places a draft on your calendar. Automatic delivery is a separate action and is not enabled in this beta. You can export your plan and schedule the reviewed content through your chosen publishing service.
ChatGPT can help during your conversation. No unattended content generation or background posting starts when you create an account.
Common setup questions.
Do you need access to my Gmail inbox?
No. Google sign-in requests your identity and email address, not Gmail messages. Social account permissions are a separate connection.
Why are there no posts in the ChatGPT plugin?
Make sure you connected the same Google and ChatGPT identities above. If they are separate, the plugin can open a different workspace. Do not import duplicates to solve an account mismatch.
What if the JSON does not import?
Copy the complete JSON response, including the braces. The preview explains invalid networks, dates or duplicate entries. Ask ChatGPT to correct that issue, paste the updated response and preview it again.
